Male Athlete of the Week:
Peter Millman – Men’s Track
 
Third-year thrower Peter Millman kicked of the indoor track and field season in style last weekend at the Golden Bear Open in Edmonton, reaching the top of the podium twice.
 
The Truro, Nova Scotia native enters the 2015 season as the defending Canada West champion in the shot put and weight throw events and he served notice that he expects to stay on top again this season in the conference, winning both events last weekend.
 
In the shot put, his first throw of 14.94 metres was good enough to take top spot, and in the weight throw Millman won the event by more than three metres with a best toss of 17.65 metres.
 
Female Athlete of the Week:
Montana Forsyth – Women’s Track
 
Fellow Truro, Nova Scotia native Montana Forsyth also got off to a good start in the season opening meet in Edmonton.
 
The third-year science student finished third among varsity athletes in the weight throw with a best throw of 13.68 metres.
 
Montana and the rest of the track athletes will next compete at the Bison Classic in Winnipeg February 6^th and 7^th and the Canada West Championships will also take place at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, February 27^th and 28^th.
