Lethbridge, AB – The Two Guys and a Pizza Place Pronghorn Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 1, 2015
Male Athlete of the Week:
Mitch Maxwell – Men’s Hockey
Third-year forward Mitch Maxwell scored a team high five points to lead the Lethbridge Pronghorn men’s hockey team to a weekend split in a home-and-home series with the Mount Royal Cougars.
Friday night, Maxwell scored once and assisted on the tying goal, as the ‘Horns rallied from a two-goal deficit, only to suffer a last second heart breaking loss, 4-3. He also led the Pronghorns with five shots on goal.
The next night, the Magrath, AB native set up the game’s opening goal just 13-seconds in, before scoring the game winning goal and assisting on the insurance goal in the ‘Horns 5-3 win over the Cougars.
Through four weeks of conference action, Maxwell leads the ‘Horns with two goals and six assists and is tied for 10th on the conference scoring list.

Female Athlete of the Week:
Jessica Lohues – Women’s Hockey
Making her first career start, Lethbridge native Jessica Lohues was solid in the ‘Horns crease and gave her team a chance to win last Saturday night in Calgary versus the Mount Royal Cougars.
In the back half of the home-and-home series, Lohues stopped 36 of 38 shots she faced in the ‘Horns 3-0 loss to the Cougars, including multiple breakaways.
The second-year goaltender only saw action once last year, a relief appearance in a game versus the Alberta Pandas.
