Female Athlete of the Week:

Nanami Wakayama – Women’s Soccer

 

Japanese exchange student Nanami Wakayama made her presence felt in only her third weekend with the Pronghorns and helped lead the Pronghorns to a weekend split at home this past weekend.

 

Saturday versus the Manitoba Bisons, her well placed ball in the 50th minute sprung Nikki Furukawa for the ‘Horns lone goal in a 2-1 loss. Sunday in the ‘Horns 4-1 win over the Winnipeg Wesmen, she set up another goal and scored her first career Canada West goal.

 

Her goal and two assists were the first points of her young Pronghorn career.

 

The ‘Horns will head out on the road this weekend, travelling to Saskatchewan to face the Regina Cougars and Saskatchewan Huskies
