Lethbridge, AB – The Two Guys and a Pizza Place Pronghorn Athletes of the Week for the week ending October 29, 2017.
 
Male Athlete of the Week:
Dejon Burdeaux – Men’s Basketball
 
Beginning his final year with the Lethbridge Pronghorns this past weekend, fifth-year guard Dejon Burdeaux combined for 53 points, 14 rebounds, 11 assists and 10 steals in a weekend sweep of the Brandon Bobcats.
 
Friday night, the Oakland, California product scored a game high 26 points to go along with nine rebounds, five assists and two steals in the Pronghorns 94-89 season opening win over the Bobcats.
 
He followed up that performance with another dominant one, leading all game scorers for the second straight night with 27 points in the Pronghorns 100-89 win. He also added another five rebounds, six assists and eight steals.
 
On the weekend, Burdeaux shot the ball an amazing 65.6% and sits second in conference scoring average through two games. He also leads Canada West in steals with 10.
 
The Pronghorns head to Edmonton this coming weekend to face the MacEwan Griffins.
 
 
 
 
Female Athlete of the Week:
Zoe Dahl – Women’s Basketball
 
Opening the 2017 Canada West season this past weekend, fifth-year guard Zoe Dahl led the way as the Lethbridge Pronghorns earned a weekend sweep of the Brandon Bobcats. Over the two games, Dahl combined for 33 points, five rebounds, six assists and one steal.
 
Friday night, Dahl scored a game high 18 points in the Pronghorns convincing 84-58 win over the Bobcats. She also added four rebounds and two assists.
 
The next night, Dahl tied for the team lead with 15 points and added four assists, one rebound and one steal in the Pronghorns 87-82 win to complete the sweep.
 
After two games, the Calgary, Alberta product sits 10th in Canada West scoring, averaging 16.5 points, and is tied with seven other players for first in free throw percentage, having made all four of her free throws last weekend.
 
Next up for the Pronghorns is a trip north to Edmonton to face the MacEwan Griffins.
