Male Athlete of the Week:
Brent Henke – Men’s Hockey
Second-year Pronghorn forward Brent Henke scored twice as the ‘Horns men’s hockey team finally put an end to their season long losing streak and earned three of four points versus the Mount Royal Cougars.
Friday night with the ‘Horns down 2-0, Henke kick started the ‘Horns comeback, scoring the first of four unanswered goals that propelled the ‘Horns to a come from behind win and their first win of the season, 4-3.
In the back half of the home-and-home series, Henke’s goal with just over two minutes remaining forced overtime but the ‘Horns eventually lost 3-2 in double overtime. Showing his versatility, Henke also moved back to the play defense early in the game after a Pronghorn injury to one of the ‘Horns regular defensemen. Henke also played defense for a good chunk of his freshman season.
The two goals were the first in his CIS career and Henke has also added two assists through 12 games this season.
