Female Athlete of the Week:
Kim Veldman – Women’s Basketball
 
Fourth-year post Kim Veldman led the ‘Horns to a weekend split to open the 2013-14 Canada West season, combining for 39 points and 16 rebounds.
 
Friday night in the ‘Horns season opening loss to the CIS fourth ranked Fraser Valley Cascades, Veldman led the ‘Horns with nine points and seven rebounds.
 
The Nursing student followed up that performance with a career night Saturday in the ‘Horns win over the Trinity Western Spartans. Veldman scored 30 points on 11 of 18 shooting and finished with 16 rebounds, one rebound shy of tying her career best total she set last season.
