Saskatoon - University of Lethbridge Pronghorn netminder Scott Bowles stopped 30 shots en route to a 3-1 win over the University of Saskatchewan Huskies in Saskatoon’s Credit Union Centre Friday.

The game was one of four the Huskies will at play at CUC this season and the first loss for the Huskies in the young Canada West season.
Bowles only blemish in the game came with just over two minutes left in the final period. Huskie Travis Brisebois was able to slide one past Bowles on the short side at 17:13 with the man advantage after Kris Snopek had taken a roughing penalty for the ‘Horns.
With the win the Pronghorns move to 2-2 on the season, while the Huskies fall to 3-1.
Cass Mappin provided the bulk of the offence for the Pronghorns potting two goals on the night including one of the power play. His first came at 6:40 in the second period and he added another that slipped through Huskie netminder David Reekie’s five-hole at 18:42 on the power play.
Daniel Iwanski scored the ‘Horns first goal of the game at the six minute mark of the first period.
The Huskies best chance to score again came at the 12-minute mark in the third period on a power play. Brennan Bosch rang a hard shot from the top of the faceoff circle off the crossbar.
Reekie made 18 saves for the Huskies on the night. Both teams went 1-for-4 on the power play.
The two teams will meet again Saturday night. Puck drop is 7 p.m. at Credit Union Centre.
