Lethbridge – After finally skating on home ice again last week the Lethbridge Pronghorns men's hockey team heads out on the road again this weekend, traveling to Winnipeg to face the Manitoba Bisons for a pair of games.

This weekend is a key series for the 'Horns (1-9-0), who trail the Bisons (2-7-1) by three points for seventh in the conference and the UBC Thunderbirds are two points ahead of the Bisons for sixth.

Despite losing both games last weekend to the nationally top ranked Alberta Golden Bears, the Lethbridge Pronghorns men's hockey team will look to build on positive steps the team took last weekend.

After only scoring six goals in their first six games, the 'Horns offense has shown some life the last four games, scoring 12 times, but they still rank at the bottom of the conference with 18 goals for. Cass Mappin continues to lead the 'Horns in scoring with four goals and four assists, but freshman Ryon Moser has really found his stride of late and has six points in his last four games.

Defensively, the 'Horns have struggled thus far, surrendering a conference leading 55 goals in 10 games, and if they are going to challenge for a post-season position they will need to solidify their play in their own end.

The Bisons, winless in their last five outings, are having similar struggles to the 'Horns. Tied for last in goals scored with the 'Horns, the Bisons have also allowed the third most goals against at 36.

Both of Manitoba's specialty team units are ranked seventh in the conference with the power play operation at 7.7% efficiency and the penalty killing unit successful only 73.3% of the time.

Puck drop for both Friday and Saturday night is scheduled for 7:00PM CST and live stats can be viewed at: http://www.leaguestat.com/canadawest/mens/en/stats/index.php?season_id=22.
