Lethbridge – Having lost five games in a row, the Lethbridge Pronghorn men's hockey team looks to get on track this weekend in a home-and-home series with southern Alberta rival Mount Royal Cougars.

The weekend series begins Friday night in Lethbridge at Nicholas Sheran Arena, before the same two teams face-off in Calgary at the Flames Community Arena Saturday night. Puck drop for both contests is set for 7:00pm and both games will also be streamed live on http://canadawest.tv.

If the 'Horns are going to turn this season around, the next 10 game stretch will give the 'Horns a good opportunity to do so. While there will be a month semester break sandwiched during this stretch, starting this weekend eight of the 'Horns next 10 games will be on home ice.

Struggling at both ends of the rink this season, the 'Horns who dropped to 1-11-0 on the season after two losses in Winnipeg last weekend, have scored the fewest goal in the conference (18) while also allowing the most with 65 goals against.

The Cougars, who are tied for fifth in the conference with Manitoba with identical 4-7-1 records, enters the weekend after being swept by their cross town rival Calgary Dinos last weekend. The Dinos opened the series with a 3-0 win before completing the sweep with a convincing 8-1 win.

Scoring the second fewest goals in the league with 24, the Cougars have only netted more than three goals in a game twice, while being shutout on two occasions. Matt Brown (5G, 4A) leads the Cougars offensively with nine points in 12 games, while Eric Galbraith (3G, 5A) and Devin Gannon (2G, 6A) each have eight points.

The major difference between the Cougars and Pronghorns has been in defensive play. Despite being three games under .500, the Cougars have allowed 23 fewer goals against than the 'Horns. Dalyn Flette has carried the bulk of the load in the Cougars crease, playing in 10 of the 12 Cougars games and has a 2.96 goals-against-average and a 0.902 save percentage.

The 'Horns will wrap up the 2013 portion of the Canada West schedule next weekend, hosting the UBC Thunderbirds.
