Lethbridge – Heading into their final conference game of the short season, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's rugby team (1-2) sits in fourth place and will play host to the third place Calgary Dinos (1-1) Thursday night at the University Community Sports Stadium.

Kick-off is scheduled for 6:00pm.

Last weekend, the 'Horns had a up and down weekend on the road, losing 20-5 to the vastly improved UBC Thunderbirds, who sit second in the conference with a 2-1 record. In their second game last Sunday the 'Horns won a hard fought 24-22 game in Victoria versus the Vikes.

Following her three try game versus the Vikes, Kara Loewen leads Canada West in tries with four and is second in the conference in total points with 20. Sarah Gordon is second on the Pronghorn scoring list with 12 points on a try, a penalty goal and two converts.

For the Dinos, in only their fourth season participating in Canada West rugby they have made quite the ascension up the ranks and were the consensus pick to win the conference this season .

The Dinos had a bye last week but after being picked to win the conference, they were shocked in their opening game by the Thunderbirds, 24-19. The Dinos did however, rebound in their next game knocking off the Vikes 26-8.

Elysa Sandron and Kate Scotland lead the way offensively for the Dinos. Sandron has scored three tries for the Dinos, while Scotland's 10 points have all come from converts.

In the past two season's the Dinos are undefeated against the 'Horns. During the 2013 campaign, the two teams tied 26-26 during the regular season, before the Dinos beat the 'Horns 29-18 in the Canada West semi-final.

In 2012, the Dinos beat the 'Horns for the first time 31-18 and put an end to the 'Horns run of six consecutive conference championships with a narrow 33-32 win in the conference semi-final.

The Dinos will wrap up their conference schedule in Edmonton versus the undefeated Alberta Pandas on Sunday, while after this game the 'Horns will have wait to see how the rest of the games effect the seedings for the Canada West Championship play out.

The Canada West Championship tournament will be held October 17-19 in Calgary.
