Lethbridge - After two straight weeks on the road, the Lethbridge Pronghorn men's hockey team returns home for the first time in 2015 and faces a daunting task, hosting the country's top ranked team and defending University Cup Champion Alberta Golden Bears.

The weekend set is scheduled for Friday and Saturday night at Nicholas Sheran Arena. Puck drops both nights at 7:00pm. Both games will also be streamed live on http://canadawest.tv.

In the New Year, the Pronghorns (4-18-0) are 1-4-0, splitting their first series in Saskatchewan, before being swept last weekend in Winnipeg by the Manitoba Bisons.

Statistically, this weekend's match-up is as big of a mismatch as the standings indicate. Entering the home stretch of the 2014-15 season, the 'Horns have scored the second fewest goals in the conference with 48 and have allowed a conference leading 101 goals against.

The Bears (19-3-0), on the other hand, have scored the most goals with 97 and allowed the fewest goals against with only 46 against in 22 games. The Bears also have the top ranked power play in Canada West, operating at nearly 27% efficiency.

The 'Horns penalty killing sits last in the conference, while the power play is ranked sixth (11%).

Individually, the Bears have the top two scorers and four of the top 10 in Canada West. TJ Foster leads the conference in scoring with 15 goals and 20 assists, which also places him second in the CIS. Jordan Hickmont sits one point behind his line mate with 16 goals and 18 assists for 34 points. His 16 goals lead the conference.

For the 'Horns Ryon Moser leads the team with four goals and nine assists, while Brandon Clowes leads the team in goals with eight.

In the crease, the Bears tandem of Kurtis Mucha and Luke Siemens rank among the top in the conference. Mucha leads the conference in wins with 12 and is second in goals against average, sporting a 1.95 GAA. Siemens is third with a 2.20 GAA but his save percentage is only 0.881.

Damien Ketlo and Warren Shymko have split duties the last two weekend with Shymko earning the win in Saskatoon. Ketlo sports a 4.21 GAA, while Shymko sits with a 4.60 GAA in 10 appearances.

The 'Horns will remain home next Friday, hosting the Calgary Dinos in the front half of a home-and-home series.
