‘Horns head to Saskatoon to take on #5 Huskies

Lethbridge – The Lethbridge Pronghorn men's hockey team looks to build off a solid opening weekend as they travel to Saskatoon to face the CIS fifth ranked Saskatchewan Huskies. Puck drops in Saskatoon at 7:00pm both Friday and Saturday night at Rutherford Arena.
 
The 'Horns (1-1-0) opened the Canada West regular season last weekend and split with the defending CIS Champion and #1 ranked Alberta Golden Bears. After losing the opening game 2-0, the 'Horns rallied from two goals down to win a thrilling game 3-2 in double overtime.
 
'Horns goaltender Dylan Tait was exceptional in net for the 'Horns, stopping 79 of 82 shots he faced in the two games and was named both the Canada West First Star for the week and CIS Athlete of the week. Tait sits second in Canada West in save percentage (0.963%) and third in goals-against average (1.40).
 
Defenceman Tim Campbell scored twice, including the overtime winner, last Saturday and tied is tied with Mitch Maxwell in points with two. Maxwell assisted on the first two 'Horns goals Saturday.
 
The Huskies (2-0-0) opened the season with a pair of wins in Calgary last weekend, beating the Dinos 6-5 in overtime and 1-0.
 
Jordan Cooke was in the Huskie crease for both wins and holds 2.46 goals-against average and a 0.912 save percentage.
 
Offensively, the Huskies power play clicked the opening weekend scoring three times with the man advantage and lead the conference in power play percentage at 27.3%.
 
Andrew Johns and Michael Sofillas both had three point weekends to lead the Huskies. Johns scored twice, while Sofillas had a goal and two assists.
