10/12/2016 4:26:00 PM

Lethbridge – With a berth in the Canada West Championships already guaranteed as hosts, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's rugby team looks to complete the regular season on a positive note, travelling to the West Coast to face the UBC Thunderbirds and Victoria Vikes.

Friday, the 'Horns take on the UBC Thunderbirds at 4:00pm and then conclude the conference schedule Sunday in Victoria at 11:00. Both game times are Pacific Time.

The 'Horns (0-2) are looking to build some momentum heading into the conference championships after dropping a heartbreaking 39-33 decision to the Alberta Pandas in September and a 64-10 decision to the Calgary Dinos two weeks ago.

Hailey Driscol leads the 'Horns with two tries, while five other Pronghorns have scored one try through two games. Newcomer Abby Neudorf has kicked four converts to round out Pronghorn scoring this season.

UBC Thunderbirds (0-3) has been officially eliminated from contention for the Canada West Championships and will be playing for pride this Saturday.

In their three losses, UBC has been out scored 124 to 46. Ciara Malone and Mackenzie Carson have scored two tries each this season to lead the T-Birds.

The 'Horns and T-Birds settled for a 12-12 tie last season.

Victoria (2-1) enters the final game of the regular season ranked ninth in the CIS and their lone loss this season came at the hands of the first place Calgary Dinos, 29-20.

Madeleine Graham leads the Vikes attack with six tries this season, while Jess Neilson has kicked four penalty goals and six converts in three games.

Last season, the 'Horns and Vikes squared off four times, a non-conference game, once in the regular season, in the Canada West final and the fifth place game at the CIS Championships. The Vikes won all four games.

While Calgary, Victoria, Alberta and the Pronghorns will compete in next weekend's Canada West Championships, seeding is yet to be determined but both semi-finals will kick-off October 21st at the University Community Stadium.
