Calgary – Playing each other for the first time since the Lethbridge Pronghorns upset them in the Canada West semi-final last year, the Calgary Dinos exacted some revenge on the Pronghorns, handing them a 64-10 loss.
The Dinos didn't let up all game, with nine different players scoring tries - third-year Shannon Chisholm was the only Dino to score two in the match. Wing Elysa Sandron was one of the stars of the show on the pitch today - she scored a try and seven converts for a total of 19 points alone.


Kasselle Menin was the first Dino to get on the board after working in the far corner to score. Sandron scored her first of many converts from a tough angle with the ball bouncing off the crossbar and in. What followed just five minutes later was a try from Kaleigh Dupuis after a great set up by Temitope Ogunjimi who ran a large distance of the field to get the Dinos in scoring position - Sandron made the convert. Trading tries later on - Kaleigh Dupuis with Calgary's, and Fisayo Latilo with Lethbridge's - the Dinos were up 19-5 halfway through the first half. Putting on the pressure, the Dinos proceeded to score three more tries and three more converts before the half was over. Ogunjimi scored her fourth try of the season, while Chisholm scored her second of the day and Emily Tuttosi punched one in before the whistle blew. 

In the second half, Lethbridge's offense stepped up and consistently put pressure on the Dinos' defense. It wasn't until 20 minutes in that the Dinos scored again. Fourth-year DaLeaka Menin found a gap and made a huge run to score for the Dinos. Sandron converted for her sixth of the game to give them the 47-5 lead. Kelcey Leavitt also found a gap in the Pronghorn's defense later on to score a try of her own - deeking through the final defenders to the end zone. With ten minutes left, Sandron scored a try, but missed the convert to widen the gap to 54 points. Nearing the end of the game, it was Frederique Tremblay that scored for the visitng Pronghorns and Samantha May scoring for the Dinos in the final moments. The final score was in favour of the Dinos, 64-10. 

The loss drops the Pronghorns to 0-2 on the season, while the Dinos improve to 3-0.

The 'Horns return to action October 14^th and 16^th when they travel to the West Coast to face the UBC Thunderbirds  and Victoria Vikes. The 'Horns will also host the Canada West Championship October 21^st and 23^rd.
