Box Score
Calgary – For the second straight game, the  Lethbridge Pronghorns men's basketball team kept the third ranked Calgary Dinos in check for the opening half but in the second game of a home-and-home series a tough third quarter cost the 'Horns in a  91-59 loss.

At the half, the 'Horns only trailed by two points but a 26-11 blew open the tight game and paced the Dinos to the win.

The 'Horns fall to 4-4 with one weekend remaining before the semester break, while the Dinos win their fifth in a row and improve to 5-1.

Jhony Verrone opened up the scoring with a three-pointer early on, but the offences for both teams lagged to just a 13-13 mark at the end of the first quarter.

The Pronghorns were able to hold the Dinos offense at bay in the second, taking a 33-27 lead with just under two minutes remaining.

However, the Dinos ended the half in a flurry, scoring eight points in the last minute and 47 seconds, led by Canada West scoring leader Thomas Cooper who had 15 points at halftime.

It was still just 44-41 midway through the third, but then the Dinos really started to play.

From that point on, the Dinos outscored the Pronghorns 17-3, with Max Eisele hitting back-to-back layups to go into the fourth 61-44.

The Dinos continued to cruise, putting up 30 points in the fourth, punctuated by an incredible alley-oop between Mambi Diawara and Matt Ellis at the 1:55 mark.

As Diawara was going out of bounds from underneath the basket, he tossed it up to a trailing Ellis who threw it down with a massive one-handed jam.

Cooper (17), Verrone (14), Diawara (15) and Lars Schlueter (12) all finished in double-figures, while Dejon Burdeaux was the only Pronghorn to do the same with 11.

Calgary dominated in the paint, winning by a 51-26 margin in the area, while holding Lethbridge to just 30 per cent shooting.

The 'Horns head out on the road next weekend, traveling to Langely to face the Trinity Western Spartans in the final series of the first semester.
