Box Score Lethbridge – The Lethbridge Pronghorn men's hockey team will host the MRU Cougars on Friday, and make the trip up to Calgary on Saturday to complete a weekend home-and-home series. The weekend is a big one for the 'Horns, who's playoff aspirations rely on their remaining four games.
They made it a little easier for themselves last weekend, taking both games in Vancouver against the UBC Thunderbirds. They won the first game 4-1, and took the second in an overtime nail-biter, 4-3. Coming back with four points was big, as it drew the 'Horns within one point of the final playoff spot.
A tougher task this weekend, as they will take on the Canada West second place MRU Cougars, who are riding high after laying a beating on the Regina Cougars last weekend, by scores of 5-3 and 7-3.
The game on Friday in Lethbridge will go at 7:00pm. The game back in Calgary on Saturday will start at 6:00pm. Both can be caught on

The 'Horns and Cougars are both riding two-game win streaks, so both teams are coming into the weekend confident in their ability to grab a couple of wins. Heading into the final two weekends of the season, the 'Horns are 10-13-1, and the Cougars are 15-6-3.
The Cougars have the edge over the 'Horns when it comes to special teams this weekend. Their power play is 4

rd-least amount of penalties in the conference, with 228 total minutes and an average of 9.5 minutes per game.

th ranked PK, killing off 69.9% of calls against them. They take less penalties than the Cougars, with 203 total minutes for an average of 8.5 per game.
The Cougars are safe when it comes to the playoffs, having already clinched a spot. The 'Horns are on the outside looking in, sitting a single point back of UBC and Manitoba for the final two tickets to the dance.
UBC plays last-place Regina this weekend, and Manitoba plays the 4
th ranked U of C Dinos. UBC and Manitoba are both 2-0 against their opponents this weekend, so the 'Horns will need to approach both games versus the Cougars as must-wins to gain ground, or to even just keep pace and put themselves in a position to make a move next weekend and sneak in.
The Cougars have the second highest scorer in the conference in Tyler Fiddler, who has racked up 34 points in 24 games played. Colin Cooper, one of their goalies, is third in the conference, sporting a 12-4-1 record, and a 2.46 GAA and .908 SV%.
Ryon Moser and Zane Jones each put up two-goal games last weekend for the 'Horns, but Brandon Clowes leads the team with 19 points this season and defenseman Tim Campbell leads all Canada West blueliners with 11 goals.
Next weekend, the 'Horns have another home and home series with the U of C Dinos.
