LETHBRIDGE – Continuing with their winning ways, the Lethbridge Pronghorn ringette team pushed their winning streak to seven games with a pair of wins over the Zone 2 U19AA team.
In game one, the Pronghorns beat Zone 2 3-1 in a low scoring game. Perri Mazurkewich, Katie Welsch and Shyla Bruvall each scored a goal, while Alyssa Hall assisted on two of the three goals.
Later in the day, the Pronghorns upended Zone 2 5-4 to extend the winning streak to seven. Alyssa Hall paced the Pronghorns with two goals and an assist. Sarah Hall, Ashley Lacavlier and Kendra Horvath also had goals in the Pronghorn win.
This Sunday the Pronghorns will face a stiff test hosting the Calgary Rath for a pair of games at ATB Centre. Game one goes at 11:00 a.m. with game two to follow at 3:45 p.m.
The Rath play in the Western Conference of the National Ringette League (NRL), the top-level ringette league in Canada. There are Canadian senior and junior National team players on the Rath roster and through six games this season, the Rath are 3-3.
Last year the Rath beat the Pronghorns 11-2 and 13-2.
