ABBOTSFORD – Playing in the second stop on the Canada West women's rugby sevens series, the Lethbridge Pronghorns went undefeated on day one, winning three straight games.

After finishing second at the first stop, the Pronghorns opened the Fraser Valley hosted stop with a 15-7 win over the UBC Thunderbirds. Hannah Lopez scored two tries, while Carolyn McKee scored the other try.

In the second game of the day, Lethbridge handed the host Cascades a 24-7 loss.  McKee scored another try, while Genna Wright scored two and Brittany Orr scored the other try and converted her own try, while Caitlin Sears hit another convert in the win.

Wrapping up day one, the Pronghorns had a rude welcome to the newest Canada West sevens rugby squad, dominating the Thompson Rivers WolfPack 57-0.

McKee scored four straight tries in the opening half and Myranda Falardeau touched down twice in the second half. Sydney De La Mare, Hailey Driscol and Erin McFadden scored the other Pronghorn tries. Caitlin Sears kicked five converts and Brittany Orr hit another convert.

On day two the Pronghorns will face the Calgary Dinos, Alberta Pandas and the Victoria Vikes.
