LETHBRIDGE – With inclement weather threatening the final stop of the Canada West sevens series and an eventual schedule adjustment due to snow, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's rugby team dropped the first two matches of day one, before bouncing back with a big win in the final match.

In their first game of the day, the Pronghorns fell behind early and couldn't recover dropping a 19-10 decision to the UBC Thunderbirds. After allowing the first 12 points, Caitlin Sears scored an unconverted try just before half.

Hannah Lopez scored the only other Pronghorn try in the second half.

Facing the series leading and undefeated Victoria Vikes in game two, the Pronghorns were shut out 26-0, to drop to 0-2. The Vikes scored two tries in each half and hit three of four converts.

The Pronghorns closed out day one with a convincing 43-0 win over the Fraser Valley Cascades. Rebecca Gannon scored a try in each half, while Brittany Orr, Myranda Falardeau, Hailey Driscoll, Erin McFadden and Sara Cline each scored one try.
