LETHBRIDGE – Playing on the final day of the 2018 Canada West sevens series, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's rugby team won twice and lost once to finish the Victoria stop with a 3-3 record and in a tie for fourth place for the Victoria tournament.

After opening the 2018 series with a second place finish in Edmonton, the Pronghorns finished fourth two weeks ago in Abbotsford and with a combined point total after their fourth place finish this weekend, the Pronghorns finish third in the overall 2018 standings.

In the inaugural series last year, the Pronghorns finished fifth in the two stop series, after the Vancouver stop was cancelled due to weather.

The Pronghorns opened day two with 24-7 loss to the Calgary Dinos. Brittany Orr scored the lone Pronghorn try and Hannah Lopez made the convert in the loss.

In game two, the Pronghorns rebounded with a 31-19 win over the Alberta Pandas. Rebecca Gannon and Hailey Driscoll led the Pronghorns on the scoresheet with two tries apiece. Sara Cline touched down the other Pronghorn try and Lopez hit two more coverts and Caitlin Sears kicked another convert.

Wrapping up the 2018 series, the Pronghorns closed with a convincing 40-5 win over the Thompson Rivers WolfPack. Cline and Abby Duguid picked up two tries each, while Lopez kicked four converts, including converting a try of her own.

Caitlin Sears scored the other Pronghorns try and kick a convert to round out the Pronghorns scoring.
