LETHBRIDGE – Looking to build on a second place finish at the first stop on the Canada West sevens series, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's rugby teams heads to Abbotsford, BC for the second leg of the three stop series, hosted by the University of the Fraser Valley.
In Edmonton at the first stop, the Pronghorns went 3-1-1 during the round robin portion and then lost to the Victoria Vikes, 35-7 in the first place game. The Pronghorns other loss in the round robin was also to the Vikes.
The Pronghorns open day one versus the UBC Thunderbirds, who the Pronghorn beat 29-12 in Edmonton. Game two will be versus the host Fraser Valley Cascades, before wrapping up day one versus the Thompson Rivers WolfPack, who are making their Canada West sevens debut this weekend.
Day two beings with a matchup with the Canada West 15s Champion Calgary Dinos at 9:00am, followed up by a game versus the Alberta Pandas.
The final game pits the top two teams from the Edmonton stop with the Pronghorns taking on the Victoria Vikes at 1:10pm.
With the addition of Thompson Rivers to the Canada West Sevens Series, there will not be placement games and the round robin standings will determine the tournament placings.
To determine the overall Champion of the series, the following point system will be used for each tournament:

2018 marks the second season of the Canada West Women's Rugby Sevens Series, which has been made possible thanks to Canada West's partnership with B2ten and Rugby Canada.
