LETHBRIDGE – Playing their first home game of the 2018 season, Saturday's game will also have increased importance for the Pronghorn women's rugby team as it is the second leg of a two-game series with the Alberta Pandas for the Ric Suggitt Memorial Cup.
Kick-off Saturday is slated for 3:00 PM at the University Community Stadium and will be streamed live on
www.canadawest.tv.
The Pronghorns head into the Saturday's match up trailing the Pandas after dropping a 17-10 decision in Edmonton to open the Canada West season. The Pronghorns trail in Suggitt Cup standings by three points and will have to beat the Pandas and not have the Pandas earn a bonus point to win the Cup for the second consecutive year.
"We have struggled in the first games to capitalize on some strong play," said Pronghorn head coach Neil Langevin. "We have been plagued with turnovers that snuff out our progress and have handed our opponents scoring opportunities that they have scored on."
"The Canada West conference has no easy games but we expect to be in the thick of this deciding game for the Suggitt Cup."
"The girls have had a good week of practice and meetings readying for the chance to play at home for the first time this year defend the Suggitt Cup in front of our loud supporters."
For the Suggitt Cup the points are as follows:

In addition to the Suggitt Cup on the line, the Pronghorns (0-3) also need to hit the win column if they are going to qualify for the post season. In the Canada West standings, the Pronghorns sit four points behind the Calgary Dinos, who have only played one game, and 5 points behind the Pandas.
After beating the Pronghorns, the Pandas lost a tight 25-24 game to the Calgary Dinos in Calgary last weekend on a last minute penalty goal by the Dinos.
Last year, the Pronghorns won the inaugural Ric Suggitt Memorial Cup with a 32-17 victory over the Pandas
