Pronghorns close out home portion of season versus Dinos

LETHBRIDGE – Returning to home field for the final time this season, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's rugby team will get another crack at the Calgary Dinos.
 
Kick-off is scheduled for 5:00 pm Friday night at the University Community Stadium. Proof of vaccination or a negative rapid test with government issued ID is required to attend Pronghorn home games.
 
The game will also be streamed live on www.canadawest.tv, presented by Co-op.
 
Two weeks ago, the Dinos beat the Pronghorns 12-6 in Calgary.
 
Friday night's game is also Bo Smith Co. Childhood Cancer Awareness night. 300,000 children around the world are diagnosed with cancer every year and Bo Smith Co. strives to ease the burdens of these children and their families and 100% of profits are donated to the children and families affected by childhood cancer.
 
During the game Friday night, 'Go for Gold for Childhood Cancer' t-shirts will be on sale and a 50/50 raffle will be conducted with all proceeds going to Bo Smith Co. to continue their journey of helping families that are facing the challenges of cancer.

A look at the teams
 
The Pronghorns (2-1) returned to the win column last weekend in Edmonton with a 24-3 win over the Alberta Pandas. The win also secured the Suggitt Cup for the Pronghorns for the third time in four installments.
 
This week's Two Guys and Pizza Place Pronghorn Athlete of the Week, Gwen Fillinger led the way with two tries in the win over the Pandas and leads the Pronghorns with three tries in three games this season.
 
Fifth-year scrumhalf Caitlin Sears leads the Pronghorns in scoring this season with 23 points, kicking seven converts and three penalty goals.
 
The Dinos (1-2) are coming off a tough weekend on the west coast, that saw them lose both games. Opening the B.C. trip, the Dinos lost 43-10 in Victoria to the Vikes and then fell 39-20 to the UBC Thunderbirds in Vancouver.
 
Offensively, Taejah Thompson leads the Dinos with three tries on the season, while Pat Lively has kicked two converts and two penalty goals.
 
Up Next
 
The Pronghorns will head out on the road next weekend, traveling to face the UBC Thunderbirds and Victoria Vikes next Thursday and Sunday respectively.
