A look at the teams
After opening the season with a win, the Pronghorns (1-5) have lost five games in a row and will look to end the slump before the team heads into the semester break. Last weekend the Pronghorns lost both games on the road in Calgary to the MRU Cougars.
Through six games this season, the Pronghorns are scoring 72.8 points per game, while allowing 80.7 points per game.
Five Pronghorns are averaging double digits in points this season and are led by newcomer De'Andrae Pierre's 11.7 points per game. Moreau Darlington sits at 11.5 points per game, while Chad Oviatt is averaging a double-double with 10.3 points and 10 rebounds per game. Angelo Mbituyimana (10.3 ppg) and Jeff Rodehutskors (10 ppg) round out the top five.
Following a bye last weekend, the Griffins (0-4) are also looking to end a skid having gone winless through two weekend. The Griffins were swept by Mount Royal and the Calgary Dinos thus far.
Statistically, the Griffins are the lowest scoring team, scoring only 59 points per game, while allowing 84.8 points against.
Luke Harold leads the Griffins offensively and is the only member to average double digits in points with 11 per game.
Former Pronghorn bench boss Mike Connolly took over the Griffins program at the start of the 2019-20 season. Connolly spent from 2002 until 2009 leading the Pronghorns and after leaving Lethbridge, he won a national title with the NAIT Ooks in 2016.
