REGINA – In the first of four consecutive road games, the Lethbridge Pronghorns were no match for the Regina Cougars, falling 4-0 in Regina Saturday afternoon.
The loss keeps the Pronghorns in search of the team's first win of the season and see their record drop to 0-7-2. The Cougars move within two points for the final playoff spot in the Prairie Division with the win, their first of the season and now hold a 1-4-5 record.
Makenna Sackmann, Kirsten Koellmel, Peyton Enns and Lennox Lockhurst scored for the Cougars in the win.
Making her first start of the season in goal for the Pronghorns, Erin Gill turned aside 12 of the 16 Cougar shots that were on goal as the Pronghorns were outshot 16-to-2 in the game.
Getting on the scoreboard early, MacKenna Sackmann picked up her first of the season on a close in header in the 7
th minute.
16 minutes later, Kristen Koellmel picked up her first of the season and doubled the lead to 2-0, a lead the Cougars would take into half time.
The Cougars picked up two more goals in the second half with Peyton Enns scoring on a penalty kick in the 69
th minutes and Lennox Lockhurst rounded out the scoring in the 84
th minute.
The Pronghorns will be back in action tomorrow afternoon in Saskatoon, taking on the Saskatchewan Huskies at 2:00 pm. Catch all the action on
