Pronghorns head to Victoria for second sevens stop

LETHBRIDGE – Coming off a fifth place finish in the opening Canada West Sevens Series tournament, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's rugby team will look to improve on that result this weekend in Victoria.
 
At the second stop of three sevens series tournaments, the Pronghorns will have three pool games on Saturday, opening with a match up with the Calgary Dinos at 10:44 am. In game two the Pronghorns will face host Victoria Vikes at 1:46 pm and will wrap up the day facing the Fraser Valley Cascades at 4:04 pm.
 
Playoff games begin Sunday at 10:00 am, with the placement round starting at 1:00 pm.
 
In Edmonton at the season opening tournament, the Pronghorns went 1-4 and placed fifth with their only victory being over the Trinity Western Spartans.
 
Teams will receive points according to their ranking at the end of each tournament. The overall winner of the series will be determined by the team with the most series points as set out below.

Tournament points:
  • Winner: 15
  • Runner-up: 12
  • Third: 10
  • Fourth: 8
  • Fifth: 6
  • Sixth: 4
  • Seventh: 2
The final stop of the 2022 Canada West sevens series will be hosted by the University of British Columbia, February 25th and 26th.
