LETHBRIDGE – Coming off the first win of the season, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's rugby heads on the road for two games over a four day span in British Columbia, facing the Victoria Vikes and defending Canada West Champion UBC Thunderbirds.

The trip will wrap up a busy start to the season for the Pronghorns that sees them play five games in 23 days.

The Pronghorns will take on the Vikes Thursday night at 5:00 pm and then take on the Thunderbirds Sunday at 1:00 pm. Only the game versus the Thunderbirds will be streamed on www.canadawest.tv .

A look at the teams

Rebounding from a loss to the Alberta Pandas from a week prior, the Pronghorns (1-2) rebounded to beat the Pandas 17-13 last Saturday and erased a two point deficit to keep the Suggitt Cup. The Pronghorns have claimed four of five Suggitt Cups, an annual two game aggregate with the Pandas.

Super senior Prop Savanna Collison leads the Pronghorns in scoring with three tries, while fellow senior Keegan Brantner has scored two tries this season.

The Vikes (1-1), who beat the Pronghorns twice last season, including in the Canada West semi-final, opened the season with a 45-24 loss to the UBC Thunderbirds. Last weekend at home, the Vikes beat the Calgary Dinos 42-12.

Lucie Romeo and Carissa Norsten lead the Vikes in scoring with two tries each.

The two-time defending Canada West Champion UBC Thunderbirds (2-0) have been the class of the Canada West, going undefeated in conference play last year and opening this season with two convincing wins. In addition to the win over the Vikes, the U SPORTS second ranked T-Birds shutout the Dinos last week 41-0.

Savannah Bauder leads Canada West in scoring with 22 points in only two games. She has scored two tries and kick six converts. Olivia Sarabura leads UBC in tries scored with three.
