LETHBRIDGE – Horns Rugby begins the 2023-2024 season on the road, travelling to Calgary, AB to take on the Dinos in rival territory. The Horns return following a fourth place finish the previous year, as they collected two wins and four losses during the rugby 15s season. In 2022, the Pronghorns finished fourth on the offensive rankings with 99 points, allowing 110 defensively for third.

Graeme Moffat returns as Horns Rugby Head Coach for the third season, hopeful to help the program find its way back to the top of the Canada West standings. The program earned its last Canada West Championship honour in 2011 and holds a total of six conference titles, and three national championship titles in school history (2007, 2008, 2009).

Leading the herd is fourth year veteran, Jada Holtkamp from Rimbey, AB, while the Horns lineup adds key additions, Charli Helland (Vulcan, AB) and Zina Umeh (Calgary, AB). Both Helland and Umeh bring with them Canada Rugby experience, as Helland was one of 40 players named to Canada Women's U18 West Camp and Umeh was named to Canada's Rugby 7s Team for the Trinbago 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games.

In their previous meetings a year earlier, Pronghorns went 1-1 with Calgary. Losing in their first game of the season to Calgary in 2022 but were able to put it all together to work to earn the win in their next game at the end of the season.

Following their bout with Calgary on September 9 at 2 p.m. the Horns will host the team at University of Lethbridge Community Stadium for the Horns Triple Header on September 16 at 7 p.m. in the back to back matchup.
