The University of Lethbridge Pronghorns are diving into the deep end at the 2024 U SPORTS Swimming Championships, aiming to make a splash on the national scene from March 7-9 at McGill University in Montreal, QC. With both the men's and women's teams currently ranked eighth in the country, the Pronghorns are in the mix for the nation's top swimmers.

Leading the charge for the Pronghorns is Chris Alexander, a fifth-year athlete from Lethbridge, AB, who is looking to cap off his final season as a Pronghorn. Alexander, who clinched gold in the 50m Backstroke at last year's championships, is looking to repeat his podium topping performance once again.

On the rise is Tristan Bennett, a second-year sensation from Tokyo, Japan, whose remarkable performances throughout the season, especially at the Canada West Championships, have positioned him as a key competitor for the Pronghorns. His gold in the Men's 50m Breaststroke and bronze in the 100m Breaststroke highlight his potential.

The women's team, led by Delaney Lehman, a second-year athlete from Red Deer, AB, has had a breakout season. Lehman, with a silver medal in the Women's 50m Breaststroke at the Canada West Championships, is at the forefront of the Pronghorns' charge. The team's growth was further evidenced by clinching a bronze in the freestyle relay at the Canada West Championships, signaling a promising future.

This year, the Pronghorn program is proud to send 12 athletes to compete at the national level. The team's performance at the Canada West Championships, hosted by the University of Calgary, where they not only showcased their talent but also their relentless spirit, sets the stage for what promises to be an exhilarating contest in Montreal.
