Despite a slow start in the 1st quarter on Friday, the Pronghorns were able to rally back with a particularly strong 2nd half as they outscored the Griffins by 15 in the 2nd half, including a 20-point 4th quarter. The Pronghorns were led in scoring by Rae Wedman as the first-year guard chipped in with 12 points off the bench for the home team in an efficient outing which included 5-7 from the free throw line

Saturday's first quarter felt similar to the night before, with a slow start in the first half, and a quick comeback in the second. Courtney Mckee led the scoring with 17 points, followed by the team's only fifth-year player, Kamryn DeKlerk claiming second with 11. Mhari Mattuli held strong in the paint and added 16 rebounds to her stats, while also playing more than 32 minutes.

The Pronghorns were fueled by a 69-point first half where they shot 13-17 from behind the 3-point line. The Griffins fought back in the 2nd half cutting the lead to as little as 7 points halfway through the 4th but in the end the Pronghorns were able to keep them at bay led by 35 from Kymani Pollard on a very efficient 4-8 from 3 and 11-13 from the free throw line.

Saturday's game was a nail bitter all the way until the final buzzer.  The leading team was never ahead by more than 5 points throughout the full 40 minutes. Tensions were high by the 4th quarter, with both teams in bonus with 5 minutes left and a score of 63-60, but Horns got the job done, with Pollard again leading the scoring with 24 points, and Jaxen Perrett picking up 9 rebounds.

The Horns are back for their last home games of the year this weekend on January 16 and 17th against the USask Huskies. The women play at 6 p.m. and 5 p.m., while the men follow at 8 p.m. and 7 p.m. respectively. Between the games on Saturday, the two teams will celebrate their graduating athletes at senior night!
