Female Athlete of the Week:
Alicia Anderson – Women’s Hockey

After missing the opening weekend due to injury, 2015-16 Canada West All-Rookie goalie Alicia Anderson made 117 saves to lead the Lethbridge Pronghorns to a four point road weekend.

Friday night in the series opener with the Regina Cougars, Anderson tied the Canada West single game record with 53 saves to lead the ‘Horns to their first win of the season, 3-2.

In the series finale, the science student was even better than the previous night, making 28 saves in the third period alone, en route to setting a new Canada West single game record for saves, turning aside an astonishing 64 Cougar shots. The Cougars scored with less than a second remaining in overtime and then found the winning goal halfway through overtime.

Through two appearances early this season, Anderson sports a 2.45 goals-against average and a 0.959 save percentage.

The Pronghorns will return home this coming weekend to host the 3-1 Saskatchewan Huskies
