Lethbridge, AB - The Pronghorn Athletes of the Week for the week ending February 12, 2012

Male Athlete of the Week:
Tyson McIntyre – Men’s Basketball

Closing out the team’s most successful regular season in 12 years, first-year forward Tyson McIntyre played a significant role in the ‘Horns weekend sweep of the Regina Cougars that secured third place in the Prairie Division and a post-season berth.

Coming off the bench both nights, McIntyre registered 8 points and 7 rebounds to go along with two assists and a steal in the ‘Horns 94-69 win Friday night. He followed that up Saturday night with another efficient performance going 4 of 5 from the field enroute an 11 point outing. Tyson was also 3 of 4 from the charity stripe and snagged two rebounds and four steals.

In his first season with the ‘Horns, the former Raymond Comet had a solid campaign coming off the bench in all 20 of the teams conference games and averaging 4.3 points and 2.6 rebounds in only 11.3 minutes of average floor time.
