Lethbridge – Following their first weekend series sweep since 2005, the Lethbridge Pronghorn men’s soccer team (2-2-0 CW) looks to remain on a roll hosting a pair of BC schools this weekend in the Fraser Valley Cascades and Victoria Vikes.

Kick-off is scheduled for 2:00pm on Saturday and 12:00pm Sunday at the University Community Stadium.

The ‘Horns last earned six points in one weekend during the 2005 season, beating the Saskatchewan Huskies and Alberta Golden Bears at home. This past weekend the ‘Horns, led by two goals from fourth-year midfielder Morgan Brownjohn, swept a home-and-home series with the Calgary Dinos.

Saturday’s opponent, Fraser Valley Cascades (0-2-0CW) had a bye the opening weekend of the season but lost both of their games last weekend. In their season opening games, the Cascades were beaten by the UBC Thunderbirds 4-2 and lost 2-1 to the TWU Spartans the following day.

The ‘Horns will conclude the weekend versus the defending CIS Champion Victoria Vikes. The Vikes took full advantage of hosting the national championship, losing in the conference semi-final, but as host bid at the CIS tournament beat the St. Mary’s Huskies 3-1 in the final to claim the national title.

After opening the conference season with two wins, the Vikes were also swept last weekend, losing 3-1 to the Spartans and 1-0 to the T-Birds.
