Lethbridge – For the first time in the Lethbridge Pronghorn men’s soccer history, the team earned points in four consecutive games and will look to extend their run when they travel to Prince George for one game versus the UNBC Timberwolves (0-5-0 CW). It will be the first ever game between the 'Horns and Timberwolves.
The ‘Horns came from behind in both games last weekend to earn draws with the Fraser Valley Cascades and Victoria Vikes. In each game, the ‘Horns scored in the second half to tie the score and since being shutout in both season opening games on the road have scored five times in the last four games.
Morgan Brownjohn leads the ‘Horns with two goals and second-year keeper Tyler Boast has been stellar in the crease. Boast ranks second in the conference in saves with 38.
In their first season in Canada West, the Timberwolves have received a rude welcome to the conference, being out scored 22 to 3 in their five losses thus far but have gradually improved every week, including suffering a close 2-1 loss to perennial Canada West contender Trinity Western Spartans last weekend.
Kick-off is scheduled in Prince George for Sunday afternoon at 12:00pm PST.
The ‘Horns will return home next weekend to host another Canada West newcomer in the Winnipeg Wesmen, next Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
