Box Score
Lethbridge – The CIS sixth ranked UBC Thunderbirds remained undefeated on the season with a 3-0 win over the Lethbridge Pronghorns.

Madison Guy, Christina Donnelly and Kym Van Guynhoven scored for the Thunderbirds, while Emily Wilson made two saves to earn her third clean sheet of the season.

Taylor Thomas suffered the loss in the 'Horns net making seven saves.

Having only surrendered one goal against all season, the Thunderbirds didn't take long to get the only goal they would need. Before the match was even two minutes old, Guy's header off a Taylor Shannik corner kick put the visitors up 1-0.

While the T-Birds controlled much of the pace in the opening half, the 'Horns back line held strong limiting the Thunderbirds to seven shot attempts and trapping the T-Birds into attack stopping offsides.

Thomas made a pair of saves to keep the 'Horns within one, including a penalty. After Nicole Sydor was taken down in the box, Thomas dove to right to stop Sydors low drive from the penalty spot.

While their chances were limited the 'Horns threatened a pair of times. Jaime Nadeau's cross deep into the T-Birds box went unchallenged and Meagan Welby played a ball into the box off a strong run but Kayla Faszer shot sailed over the bar.
From another set piece, the Thunderbirds doubled their lead with Christina Donnelly taking a free kick from 35-yards out and placing the shot over Thomas' outstretched arms, top corner.

Substitute Kym Van Duynhoven rounded out the scoring in the 86th minute.

With the win the Thunderbirds improve to 6-0-3 on the season and will travel to Calgary face the Dinos tomorrow afternoon. The loss drops the 'Horns to 0-8-2 on the season and the 'Horns will conclude the home portion of the season tomorrow afternoon, hosting the Trinity Western Spartans.
