Lethbridge – Taking a page out of their opponent's book, the Lethbridge Pronghorns rallied from two goals down in the third period to upend the UBC Thunderbirds 3-2 in Canada West women's action.

Lethbridge goals were scored by Glenda Edie, Kirsten Reeves, and Sadie Lenstra. Brown-John notched both goals for the T-Birds.

One night ago, the Thunderbirds rallied from a 4-1 deficit in the third period to beat the 'Horns 5-4 in a shootout.

Crystal Patterson got the start for the Pronghorns and faced 30 shots on the night. In net for the T-Birds was Danielle Dube who faced 33 shots. Nikola

Both teams came out flying for game two of the back-to-back weekend series. Jasmine Teske and Amber Yuha each had great chances for the 'Horns in the early minutes of the game but each was denied by Dube.

UBC struck first as Brown-John gobbled up a loose rebound that Patterson was unable to control and quickly netted her first of the season and gave her team an early lead.

The 'Horns did their best to defuse the T-Birds offensive rush but Brown-John added another to the scoresheet moments later, this time on the power play, as she snuck into the crease and lifted the puck up and over Patterson's right shoulder.

Plagued by penalty trouble in the second half of the first, the 'Horns were tasked with fighting off two back to back 5-on-3 opportunities but rose to the occasion and held off the pressure from Nicole Saxvik and Kathleeen Cahoon.

Trading chances at each end of the ice as the second period got underway, the 'Horns were looking to add their first of the night. After Saxvik was denied by the Lethbridge keeper, a quick turnover allowed the 'Horns to rush the net and though she managed to stop the first one, Dube wouldn't be able to contain the juicy rebound that Edie sent over the line for her first of the season at 4:39.

Faced with a one goal deficit, Lethbridge looked to knot things up before the end of the frame. Sarah Spence's effort came close but was quickly gloved down by the UBC net-minder.

The 'Horns would have another great chance moments later as Kirsten Reeves went hard behind the net and found Erica Williams alone in front of the net but her shot was redirected by Dube.

The Lethbridge offensive found another gear in the third, outshooting their opponents 17-5. A hard pass from Edie, just past the three minute mark, found Lenstra, who came flying into the slot and unloaded a hard wrister on her way down to her knees that went top shelf blocker side, bringing the hometown crowd to their feet and the 'Horns even at two.

An opportunistic turnover near the UBC net allowed Reeves to quickly fire a shot past Dube to give the Horns their first lead of the game at 6:31.

With this win, the 'Horns earn three points on the opening weekend and improve to 1-0-1 CW while UBC sits at 1-1-0 CW. The 'Horns play host to the University of Regina Cougars next weekend and UBC returns home to face off against the University of Calgary Dinos for a two game series.
