Lethbridge  – Coming off a solid opening weekend versus the defending Canada West champion UBC Thunderbirds, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's hockey team (1-0-1 CW) will get another good early season test, hosting CIS fifth ranked Regina Cougars (2-0-0 CW).

Despite surrendering a three goal lead Friday night, the 'Horns earned three points last weekend, losing the first game 5-4 in a shootout, before returning the favor Saturday night. Down 2-0 after 40 minutes of play Saturday night, the Pronghorns rallied with three straight goals to win in regulation, dominating the defending champions in the final period. The 'Horns outshot UBC 17-5 in during their third period rally.

Sadie Lenstra led the 'Horns attack last weekend with a goal in each of the two games, tying her for the conference's early season goal scoring lead. Glenda Edie and Kirstin Reeves registered two points, with a goal and an assist each.

Crystal Patterson and Shauntelle Williams split the goaltending duties last weekend with Patterson making 28 saves to pick up the 3-2 win Saturday night. Williams made 33 saves in a losing effort Friday.

For the Cougars, they could not have hoped for a better start to the 2013-14 season, sweeping the Calgary Dinos, CIS finalists from last season, in Calgary last weekend. Friday night, the Cougars skated to a 2-1 overtime victory and then completed the sweep with a 3-1 win in regulation time.

Jayden Skoye led the Cougars offensively last weekend and is tied for the Canada West scoring lead with three points, while Meghan Sherven scored twice for the Cougars to sit in a four way tie for the conference's goal scoring lead along with Lenstra and two other players.

Jennifer Schmidt and Toni Ross spilt time in the crease last weekend for the Cougar, with each goalie only surrendering one goal in their game.

Puck drop for both Friday and Saturday night is scheduled for 7:00pm at Nicholas Sheran Arena and both games will be webcast on www.canadawest.tv, home to all Canada West webcasts.
