‘Horns Host a Pair of Schools in First Home Games

Lethbridge – After starting the 2013 season on the road last weekend the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's soccer team (0-2-0 CW) returns home to host a pair of Manitoba schools this weekend.
 
Saturday afternoon the 'Horns will host the Winnipeg Wesmen (0-2-0 CW) and then close out the weekend hosting the Manitoba Bisons (0-2-0 CW). Both games are set for 12:00pm at the University Community Sports Stadium.
 
The 'Horns opened the season with a tough 3-0 loss to the Alberta Pandas in Edmonton and a close 1-0 loss to the Mount Royal Cougars on Sunday in Calgary. The Cougars lone goal came on a penalty kick in the opening half.
 
Both the Winnipeg Wesmen and Manitoba Bisons opened the season win a pair of losses on home field versus the Regina Cougars and Saskatchewan Huskies .
The Wesmen opened the weekend with a 4-1 loss at the hands of the Cougars and then were shutout 3-0 by the Huskies on Sunday.
 
The Wesmen began conference play in Canada West last year and they defeated Lethbridge 1-0 at home in their only match up of the season.
 
Coming off a trip to the playoffs last season, the Bisons suffered a 3-1 loss to the Huskies in their home opener last weekend, before being edged 1-0 by the Cougars last Sunday to wrap up the opening weekend of conference action.
 
In the 'Horns – Bisons only match up last season, the Bisons beat the 'Horns 5-0 in Winnipeg.
 
The 'Horns will play their third of five home games next Saturday (September 21) hosting the UNBC Timberwolves.
