Saskatoon - The University of Saskatchewan Huskie women's soccer team continued their undefeated start to the season with a 2-0 win over the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns Saturday at Griffiths Stadium in PotashCorp Park.
Leanne Mylymok's header off an Erica Parenteau corner kick in the 80
th minute snuck just under the crossbar for the game winner.
With the win the Huskies move to 4-0-2 on the season while the Pronghorns drop to 0-4-2.
Jenelle Zapski scored her fourth goal of the season during added time in the second half. Zapski generated many scoring chances for the Huskies on the day and finally beat Pronghorn keeper Myriah Marino after being denied on her previous attempts.
Marino was impressive for the Pronghorns recording seven saves highlighted by a point blank save on Zapski from inside the box midway through the second half.
Huskie keeper Cara Santaga made three saves, recording her third clean sheet of the season.
The Huskies controlled possession of the ball throughout the match and outshot the Pronghorns 18-4.
Lethbridge travels to Regina to take on the Cougars on Sunday while Saskatchewan remains at home to take on the Calgary Dinos at 12pm in Griffiths Stadium in PotashCorp Park.
