Lethbridge – Coming off their first win of the season last weekend, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's soccer team (1-5-2) is on the road for the second week in a row, traveling to Saskatoon to face the Saskatchewan Huskies (3-2-3).
The 'Horns and Huskies will square off Friday and Sunday afternoon. Kick-off for both games is scheduled for 12:00pm.
After losing the opening game of the weekend series to the Winnipeg Wesmen last week, the Pronghorns rebounded with their best offensive output of the season, beating the Wesmen 3-1.
Second-year striker Meaghan Welby led the way with a goal and an assist in the victory, while Kaitlin Doiron and senior midfielder Steph Groten scored the other two goals.
For the Huskies, the season started on a positive note going 3-1-2 in their first six games but last weekend they only earned a single point in the weekend series with the MacEwan Griffins, tying 0-0 and losing 1-0.
One of the most offensive teams in the conference, the Huskies have scored 14 goals in eight games, while only surrendering eight goals against.
Janelle Zapski leads the Huskies attack and leads the conference in goals with eight, while Erica Hindmarsh has scored five of the other six goals her team has scored this season.
The 'Horns will have a bye next weekend, before returning home for their final games of the season the following weekend, hosting the Manitoba Bisons.
