Big second half propels the 'Horns to victory

Box Score Calgary – The Cougars lost a very important match this evening with serious playoff implications. The Lethbridge Pronghorns came into MRU field and took three points from the Cougars winning 4-1.  Goals by Chris Rushworth, Stephen Primeau and Shlomo Swan-Azmon (2) were the difference in the game.
 
In the 25th minute Chris Rushworth scored his second of the season to give the Pronghorns a 1-0 lead.
 
Twelve minutes later the Cougars answered. Sean Colvin buried his second of the season to tie the game at one. That is the way the score would remain going into the half.
 
The second half was a disaster for the Cougars. The Pronghorns rattled off three straight goals to clinch the game and the three points. 
 
Stephen Primeau scored in the 49th minute to give Lethbridge the lead. Shlomo Swan-Azmon added two more in injury time to put the final explanation point on the match. 

The 'Horns held a 20 to 11 shot attempt advantage and 11 to 6 shot on goal advantage.

Peter Desmond recorded five saves to earn the win for the 'Horns, while Mount Royal's keeper David Thalheimer stopped four the seven Pronghorn shots he faced.

With the win the 'Horns improve to 2-3-2 on the season and move into fifth place in the Prairie Division, one point behind the Calgary Dinos for fourth. The loss drops the Cougars to 1-5-1 and seventh in the divison.
 
They will play the game second of their series tomorrow night at 8:30pm at MRU Stadium Field.
