Lethbridge – Entering the second weekend of the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's hockey team (0-2-0) looks to rebound from a tough opening weekend of the season but the task doesn't get any easier this weekend in a home-and-home series with the Calgary Dinos (1-0-1).

The 'Horns will host the opening game of the weekend series Friday night at Nicholas Sheran, puck drop is scheduled for 7:00pm. The back half of the home-and-home series will go Saturday night in Airdrie at Ron Ebbesen Arena at 6:00pm.

Last weekend versus the Alberta Pandas, the 'Horns were shut out both nights, 1-0 and 7-0 and were outshot 78-44. Senior goaltender Crystal Paterson made 44 saves in the 'Horns 1-0 loss and stopped 20 of the 25 shots she faced Saturday night before being replaced by first-year netminder Jessica Lohues for the third period.

One positive the 'Horns can take away from last weekend was the work of their penalty killing. They did not allow a goal during six Panda power plays.

The Dinos opened the season versus crosstown rival Mount Royal Cougars and after beating the Cougars at Father Bauer, 3-2, the Dinos lost the next night on the Cougars home ice 2-1 in a shootout.

After a season with the Canadian Olympic team, head coach Danielle Goyette returns behind the Dinos bench, as does six-time Olympian and four-time Gold Medalist Hayley Wickenheiser and Russian national Iya Gavrilova.
