Lethbridge – Returning to action off a conference-wide bye week, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's hockey team (1-7-0) heads out on the road, travelling to Regina to face the Regina Cougars (4-3-1).

The 'Horns and Cougars will face-off Friday and Saturday night at 7:00pm, both games will also be webcast on http://canadawest.tv.

In their last action two weeks ago, the 'Horns were swept by the Manitoba Bisons in Winnipeg.

A continued struggle offensively, sees the 'Horns tied for the fewest goals scoring in the conference with 10 goals in eight games. Jenae Culp and Sadie Lenstra have accounted for 70% of their team's goals, scoring four and three goals respectively. Only four Pronghorns have scored this season, Kirsten Reeves (2) and Sarah Spence are the only other two players to find the back of the net.

Defensively the 'Horns have also struggled this season, allowing a conference high 30 goals against.

Senior goaltender Crystal Patterson has started all eight conference games this season and sports at 3.68 goals-against-average and a 0.902 save percentage.

The start of the 2014-15 Canada West season has been a rollercoaster ride for the Regina Cougars through four weeks of play. The Cougars have split all four weekend series thus far and while they have yet to lose two games in a row, they have only one strung two wins together once.

In their last action, the Cougar beat the UBC Thunderbirds 3-2 in overtime, before falling 2-0 the next night.

Like the 'Horns, the Cougars have struggled offensively, but the difference is the Cougars have allowed 10 fewer goals against. The Cougars have scored 13 goals for and allowed 20 goals against.

Kylie Gavelin leads the Cougars in scoring with four goals and two assists, while goaltenders Jennifer Schmidt and Toni Ross have split time in the Cougars crease with both of them registering two wins each.

The 'Horns will finally skate on home ice next Saturday night in the back half of a home-and-home series with the Mount Royal Cougars.
