Lethbridge – For the second consecutive week, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's soccer team will host a pair of games, welcoming the University of Regina Cougars to the University Community Sports Stadium.
Kick off for both Saturday and Sunday's games is scheduled for 12:00pm.
For the 'Horns (0-3-1), they are still looking for their first win of the season but have had strong defensive outings in their last three contests. This past week, they dropped two games, 2-0 to the Calgary Dinos and 1-0 to the 2013 Canadian College Champion and newest Canada West member MacEwan Griffins.
The 'Horns have allowed six goals in their first four games but held the defending Canada West Champion Alberta Pandas to a scoreless tie two weeks ago.
In the loss to the Griffins, the 'Horns played the final 65 minutes with only 10 players and limited the Griffins to a single goal.
While the 'Horns have shown flashes of quality play, an area that has really plagued the 'Horns early in the season has been at the offensive end of the field. The 'Horns have only scored one goal in four games.
For the Cougars (2-2-0), the start to the 2014 season has been an up and down affair, splitting both their weekend series thus far. Statistically the Cougars have scored the second most goals in the conference with 10, but six of those goals came last Sunday when they beat the Mount Royal Cougars 6-1.
The Cougars also lost at home last weekend, 1-0 to the Pandas.
After this weekend the 'Horns will not play at home again until October 18
