Lethbridge - Heading into the final home weekend of the season, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's soccer team remains in a playoff position but faces a stiff challenge against a pair of nationally ranked teams.

The 'Horns (2-5-3) host the eighth ranked Victoria Vikes on Saturday and the fourth ranked UBC Thunderbirds Sunday. Kick-off for both games is set for 12:00pm at University Community Stadium.

Entering this weekend, the 'Horns while still holding on to fifth place, are trending in the wrong direction having lost three consecutive games. The 'Horns were swept in a home-and-home series with the East Division leading Calgary Dinos last week.

Offensively, the 'Horns have only scored seven goals in nine games and Nikki Furukawa leads the team with three goals.

'Horns keeper Micaela Stone, who has played every minute this season, has made the second most saves in the conference with 81.

Saturday's opponent, the Victoria Vikes (6-2-2) currently sit third in the West Division and in their lone game last weekend, tied the UBC Thunderbirds 2-2.

In 10 games this season, the Vikes have scored the second most goals in the conference with 23 and have only allowed eight goals against. Kiara Kilbey leads the Vikes with five goals and Teresa Anania and Emily Lieuwen have both scored four times.

Sunday, the 'Horns take on the West Division leading UBC Thunderbirds (8-1-1) who prior to their tie with the Vikes last week, had won six games in a row.

Third in the conference in goal scoring (22), The T-Birds are led by Jasmin Dhanda's six goals. UBC is also tied for the fewest goals against with the Trinity Western Spartans, allowing only six goals against. Keeper Olivia de Goede leads Canada West with five shutouts.

The 'Horns will conclude the Canada West regular season next weekend on the road, traveling to face Mount Royal and MacEwan.

Saturday will also mark the 'Horns annual alumni game and breast cancer fundraiser game.
