Lethbridge – Heading into the final weekend of the Canada West regular season, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's soccer team controls their own destiny, but will need to right the ship to clinch a playoff spot.

The 'Horns (2-7-3) have lost five straight games heading into this weekend's road games versus the Mount Royal Cougars and MacEwan Griffins. Kick-off for both games are scheduled for 12:00pm.

With two games left, the 'Horns are one point ahead of Saturday's opponent, MRU Cougars for fifth place and four points ahead of the Regina Cougars. The top six teams in each division qualify for the post season and one win this weekend will clinch a spot.

Nikki Furukawa continues to lead the 'Horns in scoring with three goals, while fifth-year senior Kim Shellenberg is second with two goals.

The Cougars (2-8-2) earned a big win last weekend to move with a point of the 'Horns and they too would clinch a playoff spot with a win this weekend. The Cougars play cross town rival Calgary Dinos Thursday night at home.

A trio of players led the way offensively for the Cougars with Erin Holt, Amanda Schafer and Navroop Virk tied for the team lead in goals with three each.

Sunday's opponent MacEwan Griffins (6-3-3) have already clinched a post-season berth but with two wins this weekend could lead frog the Calgary Dinos for second place and potentially tie the Saskatchewan Huskies for top spot in the East Division.

Isabelle Dobbin and Meagan Lemoine have been the offensive catalysts for the Griffins, both rookies have each scored five times this season.
