Lethbridge – Following a weekend sweep of the Calgary Dinos, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's hockey team faces another southern Alberta rival, taking on the Mount Royal Cougars in a home-and-home series. The weekend set starts in Lethbridge Friday night and continues Saturday night in Calgary.

Puck drops both nights at 7:00pm.

The 'Horns (5-1-2-0) remained fourth in the CIS Top 10 ranking this week; the third consecutive week the team has placed in the national rankings.

Specialty teams continue to be a key to the 'Horns success this season, having the top ranked penalty killing (93.1%) and second ranked power play (29.3%). While shorthanded the 'Horns have only allowed two goals against and lead Canada West in power play goals scored with 12.

Lauren Fredrich continues to lead the 'Horns in scoring with four goals and four assists in eight games and blue-liner Jocelyn Sabourin is second with seven points in eight games.

First-year goaltender Alicia Anderson continues her strong play and has started all eight games for the team so far, holding a 1.82 goals-against average and 0.942 save percentage with two shutouts.

For the Cougars (2-5-0-1), it has been a tough start to the 2015 season and lack of offense has been the biggest contributor to their early season struggles.

The Cougars have only scored eight goals in eight games and have been shut out three times already this season. Carley Bertram and Sarah Wenninger are the lone Cougars to score multiple goals this season and Bertram leads the team with three goals and an assist.

Despite the offensive struggles, the Cougars have been solid defensively, tied for the fewest goals allowed in Canada West with 14 and have a solid tandem of Jessica Ross and Emma Pincott in the crease. Both have played four games this season, with Ross having the better numbers with a 1.52 goals-against average and a 0.941 save percentage.

In contrast to the 'Horns, the Cougars specialty teams have been a challenge for them this season. The Cougars power play is ranked last and their penalty killing is second last.

Following a conference wide bye next week, the 'Horns return to action November 13th and 14th when they host the Manitoba Bisons.
