Lethbridge – With both teams having been eliminated from post-season contention, this weekend's season finale series between the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's hockey team and the Mount Royal Cougars is all about pride and finishing the season on a positive note.

The home-and-home series kicks off in Calgary Friday night at the Flames Community Arena with the back half of the set going Saturday night at Nicholas Sheran Arena. Puck drop for both nights is set for 7:00pm.

The 'Horns (5-21-0) put an end to a nine game losing streak last Saturday night beating the Saskatchewan Huskies, 2-1 and trail the Cougars by four points for seventh spot in Canada West. The 'Horns swept the Cougars earlier this season, winning 4-0 in Calgary and 2-1 at home.

This weekend will also mark the final games in a Pronghorn jersey for six players. Courtney and Chelsea Minor, Angela Burke, Katie Mucha and Crystal Patterson will all complete their five years of eligibility, while captain Sadie Lenstra will graduate with a nursing degree, using only four years of eligibility.

Patterson will end her career as the Canada West leader in minutes played by a goaltender. Entering this weekend she has played 6728 minutes and has played all but 20 minutes this season. She also holds a career 2.70 goals-against-average and a 0.915 save percentage with seven career shutouts.

Lenstra leads the 'Horns in scoring this season with seven goals and six assists, while linemate Jenae Culp sits second with six goals and four assists.

After a rough start to the season, the Cougars have had a much better second half, earning three of their five wins since the New Year and have earned points in five of their last eight games, including sweeping the Calgary Dinos in early January.

Reanna Arnold leads the Cougars offensively with three goals and 10 assists and Tanika Dawson is the lone other Cougar to reach double digits in points with 11.
