Lethbridge - The Lethbridge Pronghorn women's soccer team hits the home pitch again this weekend, hosting a pair of Saskatchewan schools Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

Saturday, the 'Horns play host to the Saskatchewan Huskies and will wrap up the weekend set with a match up versus the Regina Cougars. Both games are scheduled for 12:00pm at the University Community Stadium.

During the opening weekend of the season, the 'Horns got off to a perfect start, blanking the MacEwan Griffins 2-0. The Griffins were a playoff team last season. In their second game of the weekend, the 'Horns were upended 4-1 by the Mount Royal Cougars.

In her first games as a Pronghorn, Nikki Furukawa had an immediate impact for the 'Horns, scoring in both games, including the game winning goal on Saturday. Furukawa played two seasons with the Calgary Dinos before sitting out last season.

The Huskies (2-0-0), 2014 Canada West bronze medalists, also opened the season last weekend and went a perfect 2-0 beating both the Manitoba Bisons and Winnipeg Wesmen by identical 3-2 scores.  After the opening weekend, Kelly Cerkowniak and Meagan Manson look to be the go-to players offensively, scoring three and two goals respectively.

Last season in Saskatoon, the Huskies dominated the 'Horns with 3-0 and 5-0 victories.

Sunday's opponent, the Regina Cougars (0-2-0) had the exact opposite result as their a provincial counterpart, losing to both the Wesmen and Bisons last weekend. Both games ended in 2-1 scores.

A year ago in Lethbridge, the Cougars and 'Horns battled to a scoreless draw in the first game before the Cougars earned a close 1-0 in the series finale.

The 'Horns will head out on the road for the next two weeks, before returning home October 11th to host the Calgary Dinos.
