Lethbridge – Following a successful 2-1-1 homestand, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's soccer team heads out on the road for the first time this season, traveling to Winnipeg to face the Winnipeg Wesmen and Manitoba Bisons.

The 'Horns face the Wesmen Saturday and the Bisons Sunday; kick-off for both games is scheduled for 2:00pm CST.

Through two weekends of conference action, the 'Horns have equaled their point total from a year ago, with seven points, and sit fourth in the East division standings. Defensive stability has been a key to the 'Horns early success this season.

In four games, the 'Horns have only allowed five goals against, but four of those goals came during the team's only loss of the season, a 4-1 loss to the Mount Royal Cougars.

Third-year goalkeeper Micaela Stone has also had a strong start to the season, earning two shutouts in five starts, which is tied for the conference lead and has the second best save percentage in Canada West at 0.862%. She also holds a 1.25 goals-against average.

Saturday's opponent, the Winnipeg Wesmen, sit at the bottom of the division table with a 1-5-0 record but beat the Mount Royal Cougars last Saturday in Calgary for their first win of the season.

In six games this season, the Wesmen have only scored six times but Danielle Bulloch has accounted for four of the goals and the 'Horns will have to keep a close eye on her if they are to shut down the Wesmen's attack.

On Sunday, the 'Horns face the East Division leading Manitoba Bisons (3-1-2) and will have another dynamic goal scorer to contend with. Of the 13 goals the Bisons have scored this season, Bruna Mavignier has accounted for six of those goals, which leads all Canada West goal scorers.

The Bisons are three points clear of the Calgary Dinos for top spot in the division and their only loss so far this season came on the road versus the Saskatchewan Huskies.

The 'Horns will be on the road again next weekend and won't play at home again until October 11th.
